Spit the Dog was the canine puppet operated by Bob Carolgees. They appeared on the Saturday morning TV series Tiswas and then later worked for eight years on the TV show Surprise Surprise, and on the children's game show Concentrate. In popular culture Bob and Spit had other cameo roles. As well as gaining national fame with these and Spit the Dog (plus Cough the Cat), Carolgees was also part of The Four Bucketeers who made the UK Top 30 in 1980, even making a Top of the Pops

appearance. Spit the Dog was a puppet best known for his spitting. An early Spit the Dog puppet raised over £5,000 at a Christie's auction in 2004.
